It appears to be snowing on WordPress, but not here. On one hand, I kinda miss it. On the other, I don’t want to drive home in it. So conflicted!

One more week of classes, a week of finals, and I still have 5 projects, a final exam, and I have to change rooms. I’m trying to just tackle one thing at a time, though. If I think about them all at once I think my head will explode. Little brain bits everywhere. Terrible mess to clean up. But in the meantime, it’s Friday, and I plan to make a legitimate dent in my workload. I knew it would go quick after Thanksgiving, it always does. Thanksgiving then two weeks then home and then Christmas. I’m pretty excited about that last bit. (Who has two thumbs and is done shopping already? This girl. Yay.)

Yep. Back to work.

I’m working on my Multimedia project and I’m a bit befuddled. I kinda know what I have to do, and yet I kinda don’t know where to start. I don’t know how much time I’ll have between here and a week from now to work on it, since I can’t take my computer home. I’ll have to figure something out. So there’s that. At least I finally finished my giant Art History Paper O’ Doom. But I still have sooo much before the semester’s out. And unless I stay up a few more hours tonight, I have no real time until next Sunday. Boo.

Ah well. Well, here’s a neat link that I found. I haven’t poked through it all too much, but the site is real purdy, and it seems to have some interesting information.

I just hope I don’t die before the semseter’s out. I hope I hope I hope I hope.

So I had every intention of getting a ton of work done this weekend. Yeah, it’s Sunday night and that totally hasn’t happened. I did make a small dent though. And I sewed the button back on my wool coat. Which is something.

I feel like I’m forgetting to do a million different important things. It’s…not a good feeling. I even have a to-do list, but I feel like stuff is missing from it. Especially since I just realized that by this time next month, classes will be over. Still finals, but its still really close. Which, while feeling like you’re forgetting stuff sucks, is good, because this semester is kicking my ass.

Week 9 Post

Well, I think it’s week 9, anyway. I keep losing track. Maybe using numbers just makes it more confusing.

This weekend was Halloween and it was awesome, for the most part. Some random stuff with people not getting along and/or being dumb, but you’ll get that with people in general. So got lots of candy, then off to watch bad horror movies. (BTW, ever want a horribly-acted, majorly screwed up movie? Try “Teeth”. Oh my god, I feel like I’m scarred.) So that was fun.

Working on Project 2. I kinda wish I had practiced in DreamWeaver or something. I feel like I forgot everything I learned already. I think I have the memory of a goldfish. So I get to annoy the TAs and the teacher with stupid questions and I feel really dumb. Here’s hoping I pick it back up again.

I’m pretty much on track for where I want to be on the project, but I feel like a lot of people are really far ahead of me. (Then again, I’m sure some are behind too.) And since my parents are bringing my car back to me this weekend, and I can’t go to to MassMOCA, (Boooooooo) I’ll have time to work. So there’s that.

I’m working on studying on my 20th century art midterm and I’m very concerned about failing. How can I write about something when I don’t understand it half the time? Blarg.

On another note, the new Apple mouse looks super nifty. Granted, I’m all for shiny new tech toys, but this one looks really cool. I wannnnntt it. But I’m broke, so probably not so much, then. And I’d likely want to try it out first.

So yeah, back to trying to remember names and dates and what the hell the Expressionists and Futurists were talking about. Joy.

Week 7 Post

So next semester, I think all I really have left that is required is 414 and Drawing II. Maybe another studio, I’m not totally sure. I just looked it up, and Drawing II is from 2:20-5:15 TR, and 414 is 3:00-4:00 TR with a lab TR 12:45- 2:45. And that’s the only time either of those are offered. bzfhdffhFgfdgsjfdkgl;ANGERFRUSTRATIONnretiooteyoi. To top it off, Book Arts, which I’ve wanted to take since I heard about it like two years ago, is also only offered TR 2:20-5:15. (That’s just about the only time half the classes I can/want to take are offered. It is not only bizarre, but annoying as all hell.)

But yeah, I really don’t know what I’m gonna do about that. I’ll have to talk to my advisor. I honestly didn’t think it would be a problem, but it figures that THE ONLY TWO I have to worry about I can’t actually take. I mean, granted, there’s not that many time slots for classes if you’re an art major, but that’s just redonkulous.

Ugh. Anyway, it seems like all my classes want everything due at the same time. Mostly next week. I’m not so much a happy camper tonight, gotta be honest.

But on the upside, as I work on my Toybox project for 409, I realize I do remember more than I thought about Flash. Less than I want to, but more than I thought. I ought to take the little things where I can get them, I guess.

Week 6 Post

Project 1 all done. I have no idea what we’re going to do next. Right now I’m watching Doug walk around and mumble. It’s pretty amusing.

So in 409 we’re working on something called “toyboxes”. Its a chance for us to experiment in Flash. The idea of getting to fiddle around with lots of different things is something I like a lot. I am a little afraid though. I’ve forgotten a lot about coding and I feel like that’ll be a big problem. Although, from what I understand, you pick it up again pretty quick, so we’ll see. I’ve been researching cool little things done in Flash though, to see if there’s something I want to do. Maybe I’ll share it when it’s all done.

Week 5 Post

Kind of a switch seeing as I usually post these early. But I’m taking a break from finishing up my Project 1. (Still having a bit of trouble with the tables one, but I’m managing.)

I saw Zombieland yesterday. It was really, really good. It’s funny,because there was actually a lot of stuff where I got to go, “Hey, I bet they did that with AfterEffects.” In my head, of course. That would be silly to yell out loud. But yeah, it was good. The beginning was super gory, which was a little ew, but it was also very funny. So it kind of balances out.

Randomly, I wish I could get iCal on my phone. I don’t have an iPhone, so I don’t think I can. Boo.

The colors are a little obnoxious, but I was more concerned with getting the technical stuff right. Besides, who doesn’t like ridiculously bright colors?

Week 4 Post

Okay, technically a new week doesn’t start until Sunday, but I figure I’m getting things done early. (I always thought Monday made more sense anyway, personally.)

Mostly posting now because I made a new header. Ooooh, shiny. (Which I mostly made to stall on working on Exercise 3. I’m still fairly confused. I figure I’ll get what I can done, then try and figure things out on Monday. Maybe. Hopefully.) Made in Photoshop, and I used a whole bunch of brushes. Which, honestly, I like and don’t like. I like how it ends up looking, I don’t like that I haven’t made them myself. I mean, one of the great things about using programs like Photoshop is that there’s a huge online community. And they provide tons of free resources to people who want to use them. So the brushes I used are ones people posted specifically so others could use them. But I’d still rather have made my own. I kinda know how to do it. It’s something I tell myself I want to do, and I plan on it almost every time I have a break from school. I always say I’m going to take the time to make my own brush library. And then I never get around to it. Boo.

Ah well, maybe next summer.
